TERRIFIED shop workers have been traumatised after they were robbed by masked men armed with knives and a sword.

The raiders struck at the Mirfield branch of The One Stop Convenience Store.

Police said three men entered the general store on Greenside Road wearing balaclavas and brandishing the weapons.

They demanded cash, scratch cards and tobacco from a staff member before escaping in a small black vehicle.

No-one was injured in the raid at 9pm on Thursday June 19, but The Examiner understands two shop workers on duty at the time are suffering from shock and have not been able to return to work.

It is thought no customers were in the store at the time.

Detectives in Kirklees are now appealing for witnesses in a bid to trace the trio.

The first suspect is Asian, about 5ft 8ins tall, medium build and was wearing all dark clothing and a balaclava.

The second man is white, about 5ft 8ins tall and of a slimmer build.

He was wearing all dark clothing, a balaclava and was carrying a pink rucksack.

The third suspect is described as 5ft 8ins and is the slimmest of the three.

He was also wearing dark coloured clothing and a balaclava.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the men in the area at the time or who may be able to identify them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dewsbury CID on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
