HUDDERSFIELD Library and other West Yorkshire landmarks will be emblazoned on the sides of new buses to serve the county.

Nine new buses for the X6 Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds service will feature giant images of the library together with blown up photos of Bradford Alhambra Theatre and Leeds Train Station.

The fleet of modern double-deckers feature low floor access and have efficient engines.

They will be launched by operator First and transport authority Metro today at Centenary Square, Bradford.

Khadim Hussain, operations director for First in Bradford, said: “We are sure all our proud Yorkshire customers will love to travel in buses that celebrate the county’s history and heritage.

“This large financial investment by First shows our commitment to driving forward our plans for continued improvement for bus users in Yorkshire.”
