HIGHWAYS officials closed one lane of the M62 after a lorry fire.

HIGHWAYS officials closed one lane of the M62 after a lorry fire.

The Highways Agency took action after the truck’s wheels set alight on Saturday morning. Firefighters from Elland were called at about 6am.

The driver of the lorry, carrying bleach, had managed to pull over on the eastbound carriageway near junction 24, Ainley Top.

The road was fully reopened shortly after 7am.
