A TOPPING-OUT ceremony was held to mark the end of the external works on a new council-run care home for the elderly.
The development at Ings Lane, Newsome, is on the site of the old Castle Grange home.
Forty en-suite rooms will be provided in the home, expected to open next spring.
Other care homes are being built at Ings Grove, Mirfield, Moorlands at Netherton and Claremont, Heckmondwike, in a £10m plan.
Clr Dennis Hullock, council Cabinet member for social services, said: "We are one of very few local authorities to be building new homes."
