A SOLICITOR has become the first in Huddersfield to be accepted as a member of two law groups.

Kirstine Park, 35, of Thongsbridge, has been accepted as a member of both The Law Society Children Panel and the Accredited Specialists of the Solicitors Family Law Association, now known as Resolution.

The mother-of-two, who works for Ridley and Hall solicitors in Dundas Street, had to pass gruelling interviews and exams to be accepted.

"Being a member of the Children Panel means I can represent children in court," she said. "It is a real honour because children are the most vulnerable of all people and the panel choose very carefully."

Mrs Park also had to present years of case studies to the panels, who then quizzed her on her suitability.
