A CAMPAIGN to promote education for young people is being launched in West Yorkshire.

The Don't Get Left Behind drive aims to encourage even more young people over 16 into education.

The Learning and Skills Council for West Yorkshire is responsible for planning, paying for and co- ordinating all over-16 learning - except higher education - in the region.

It is launching a highly visual campaign to encourage young people to stay in learning once they reach 16.

There are a direct marketing pack for parents and young people, collectable postcards and display units in a wide variety of locations.

There is also a new style and content Learning Directory for careers and school advisers and specially designed pocket reference cards.

In addition, a website has a fresh look, with music and games.

A spokesman for LSC West Yorkshire, said the group had sought the views of the over-16s, adding: "We are all very excited with this new campaign approach."

A freephone number, 08081 561619, features prominently on all campaign material.
