A 75-YEAR-OLD man has gone on trial accused of indecently touching a young girl in a house in Huddersfield.

Wycliffe Spencer, of Meadowcroft Mews, Leeds, has denied two charges of sexual assault on a child under 13.

The allegations relate to an incident back in 2007 when Spencer is alleged to have put his hand under the girl’s top.

Prosecutor Caroline Wigin told a jury Bradford Crown Court yesterday that after the girl rolled away Spencer then put his hand down her pants and again touched her indecently.

The girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, told her mum about the incident and when the child’s mother confronted Spencer he said he had only been rubbing her tummy.

The trial continues.
