A PACKED main Leeds bus station was evacuated last night over concerns about a suspicious package.
The building was evacuated and cordoned off as police and Army bomb disposal teams investigated a parcel at about 8pm.
About 100 passengers were told to leave the premises. They were allowed back in after a controlled explosion by the team.
Angela Coppinger, a 30-year-old accountant who had been evacuated from the building, said: "It was a very, very scary position, as you can imagine. Everyone was really quite tense and fearing the worst."
Roads around the bus station were closed to the traffic, but later reopened.
