A MAN and a woman charged over the death of Leticia Aalayah Wright will stand trial in May.

Four-year-old Leticia died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a result of complications from her injuries on November 19.

Sharon Wright, 22, of Almondbury Bank, Huddersfield, and Peter McKenzie- Seaton, 21, of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, made their first appearance before a crown court judge yesterday.

They each face a charge of causing or allowing Leticia's death.

Both were remanded back into custody by Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge Stephen Gullick, who set a provisional trial date for May 14. The trial is expected to last two weeks.

The accused will next be back at Bradford Crown Court on April 11 for a plea and case management hearing.
