DETECTIVES are today questioning a man about the death of a four-year-old Huddersfield girl.

The 21-year-old man was arrested in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, in connection with the death of Leticia Aalayah Wright.

Leticia died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as a result of complications from her injuries in the early hours of Sunday morning.

She had been taken there by ambulance the previous evening from a house in Almondbury Bank, Moldgreen.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the man, who was arrested in North Yorkshire on Wednesday night, had been brought back to West Yorkshire for questioning.

He remains in custody.

Earlier on Wednesday, the girl's mother, 22-year-old Sharon Wright, was remanded in custody charged with causing or allowing the death of her daughter.

Wright, of Almondbury Bank, was ordered to appear at Bradford Crown Court on November 29 by Huddersfield magistrates.

A post mortem examination showed the little girl died as a result of complications from multiple injuries.
