HUDDERSFIELD Public Library opened its doors exclusively to teenagers for a day.

More than 80 teenagers came to take part in a range of activities and workshops designed to suit their tastes and interests.

The various activities included outdoor art, writing with authors Alan Gibbons, Ceri Worman and Pete Kalu, printmaking, a football reading game and drama.

In all, there were nine workshops for the teenagers.

Award-winning children's author Mr Gibbons said: "I have done many events for teenagers out of school hours.

"I don't remember any that were better organised. Over 80 youngsters engrossed in writing, drama and art - and on a Sunday, too! Brilliant!"
