Licence review at village club

OFFICIALS have been asked to review a Meltham club’s licence after police found it had breached some of its conditions. Meltham Conservative Club on Station Street was visited by licensing officers on Friday following complaints that underage drinkers were being served. Pc Richard Farrand and Pc Richard Woodhead found that non-members were being served and no record was being kept of who was being allowed in. The officers said committee members have agreed to work with them on an action plan to deal with the problems. A review of the club’s licence will be carried out by Kirklees Council’s licensing committee within 28 days.
