ACTION is being taken to wipe out antisocial behaviour on a Huddersfield footpath.
Huddersfield South Area Committee approved £3,500 for lighting on the path from Highgate Lane to Woodlands Road East in Lepton.
Almondbury ward councillor Ann Denham said: “Over the past few months we’ve had a number of residents come forward saying that they were afraid to use the path after dark
“They said they were worried about some of the activities that were taking place there in the evening and at night involving young people.
“The installation of the lighting should help to improve the situation for the residents,” she added.
The path will close for two to four weeks in May for the work to be carried out.
