NICK LEAN is following his dreams.

And the 42-year-old leisure centre worker is one step closer to the big time.

Next month the Lindley man will direct and produce his new film, Hard Shoulder, in 3 Mills Studios in London.

He told the Examiner he was really excited about the prospect of making the psychological thriller which he wrote.

He said: “We are shooting on film and concentrating specifically on the aesthetics so we can get one up on the market which is so competitive at the moment.

Nick said: “Hard Shoulder is a film that will challenge all those fantastical images of perfect Americana. Yet it avoids the clichéd typically British film model of poor, squandered northern cities rotting in a pile of their own Brit-sick inadequacy.

“It will tear down the cookie cutter housing estates, punch out the cheesy-fake smiles, ridicule those always helpful neighbours with their oh-so-perfect family values, and thoroughly ride roughshod over the vomit-inducing optimism for ‘brighter futures’ that Hollywood movies seem reticent to leave behind.”
