Lindley Junior School Choir will be flying the flag for England in this year’s Songs Of Praise final.
For the choir is up against two Welsh choirs in the battle for the crown of School Choir of the Year.
Millions of TV viewers saw the youngsters win through from the semi-final yesterday teatime by singing the hymn Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven.
In the final on Sunday, May 11, they will sing Love Grows Here by Don Bresig.
Lindley choir’s musical director Alison North said: “The choir has done extremely well in what has been a very busy term and the highlight so far was being named Choir of the Day at the Choir of the Year competition at Leeds Town Hall and making it through to the next round. I hope people tune in to support us a week on Sunday.”
The two choirs standing between Lindley and the title are Llangennech Junior School from Carmarthenshire and Ysgol Iolo Morganwg from Cowbridge in The Vale of Glamorgan.
