DOUGHNUTS were the choice of the day for customers of a Lindley Bakery shop at the weekend.

Hartley’s Confectioners in Lindley, are just one of hundreds of high street bakeries across the country supporting National Doughnut Week, by raising as much money as possible for the National Children’s Trust.

It’s the first year that Hartley’s has taken part in the annual event, which is this year running from May 10 to May 17, and will be offering customers of its Brighouse and Lindley shop not only a wide range of doughnuts, but also a chance to win shopping vouchers and bottles of wine.

All the money raised will be used by the Children’s Trust to provide specialist care treatment, education and rehabilitation for children with profound disabilities and complex needs.

Jason Hartley, owner of Hartley’s Confectioners, said: “We are calling on the people of Lindley to get involved by purchasing doughnuts, which we do not sell at any other time of the year, and help us to raise as much money as we can for the vital work performed by the Children’s Trust.”
