A Lindley man has appeared in court accused of dangerous driving on the M62.
Elliot Bray allegedly reached speeds of 103mph as he led police on a chase on the motorway.
Kirklees Magistrates’ Court heard that the incident lasted for 15 miles as officers tried to stop his Vauxhall Corsa between Normanton and Ainley Top.
Prosecutor Bill Astin said that the pursuit ended when Bray abandoned his vehicle, leaped over the crash barrier and headed into some woodland.
Bray, of The Coppice, also faces charges of failing to stop, using a vehicle without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The21-year-old’s case was committed to Leeds Crown Court where he will first appear on June 2.
