SCARY Spice Mel B has said she plans to visit an exhibition on the Spice Girls which has attracted a record number of visitors.

She has told the Lindley woman behind the exhibition at Leeds City Museum that she’d love to see it.

More than 5,400 people have visited the exhibition, which opened on January 28.

Mel B contacted the collection’s owner Liz West on Twitter, tweeting: “I will make a point of taking a trip to you to see it all for myself.”

The museum said the best-attended exhibition prior to this was Dr Rock's Lost Gallery with 3,500 visitors.

Mel B, who is from Leeds but lives in Los Angeles, also responded to messages about the exhibition from visitors saying: “Thank you for all your amazing pics from the Leeds Spice exhibition”.

The 4,000 items on show at Spiceworld: The Exhibition are owned by collector Liz, and include outfits worn by the band, accessories and the Union Jack boots worn by Geri Halliwell.

Miss West said: “I am absolutely delighted that so many people have taken an interest in coming to the exhibition.

“Obviously it would be amazing if Mel B came along to see it for herself – the offer of a full tour is always open”.
