MEMBERS of Huddersfield’s health watchdog have met with ambulance chiefs to discuss ways of improving the service.

They were among 10 Local Involvement Networks (LINks) comprised of service users, who came together to hear future plans of the ambulance service.

Mike Potts, the head of Kirklees NHS Trust, last year wrote to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to complain, after it persistently failed to meet the Government’s target of answering 75% of blue-light Category A calls within eight minutes in Kirklees.

Volunteers in LINk heard talks from ambulance service chairman Nick Varey and Sarah Fatchett, director of operations for patients transport services.
