Man stabbed by pub raiders
Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at the Shibden Mill Inn, Halifax on Monday.
It happened between 5.15am and 5.45am after two male suspects forced entry to the premises. A male member of staff was alerted following the alarm activation. On attendance in the bar area, he was threatened with violence before the suspects made off with a number of items.
The suspects are described as white British males, in their 20s , about 5ft 10 tall wearing grey fleece tracksuits and trainers.
The victim received a minor stab wound during the incident requiring hospital treatment
Detective Constable Jason Mohan of Calderdale CID said, “Clearly this has been a distressing incident for the victim, and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery, or who has any information that may help identify those responsible to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Mohan at Calderdale CID via 101 quoting 13170001375. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Travel: Train delays
There are delays of up to 45 minutes on Northern between Leeds and Manchester Victoria due to a signalling problem between Bradford Interchange and Halifax.
Young man and woman robbed while sat in their car
A man and teenage woman were robbed while sat in a car in Halifax, police have said this afternoon.
The 18-year-old female and 22-year-old man were sat in a parked silver Peugeot 207 on Coleridge Street behind Cafe Passion last night at 8.30pm when two men approached them.
The men threatened the victims before stealing personal possessions, then made off down St John’s Lane. The suspects have been described as white males in their thirties to early forties, between 5ft8in and 6ft tall and of stocky build.
One of the suspects was described as bald.

Very slow heading into Brighouse from the M62
Reports of very slow traffic on Wakefield Road in Brighouse still this afternoon, as the sliproad at junction 24 remains closed.
The worst of it is between Locksley Road and Clifton Road heading into Brighouse from the M62.
Horse box failed to stop after injuring M62 driver
Another police appeal after a horse box vehicle collided with an Audi on the M62, injuring the driver, and failed to stop.
The vehicle officers want to trace is described as a blue coloured Ford Iveco horse box with the word “horses” written on the side in yellow or gold writing.
The vehicle was travelling westbound at around 4.15pm on Wednesday last week when it collided with a grey Audi A1 near junction 27. As a result of the collision the Audi went onto the hard shoulder where it was in collision with the barriers. The driver required hospital treatment.
The horsebox did not stop at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Bob Hoyle on 101 quoting log 954 of 28 December.
Man stabbed at Leeds Road pub on New Year's Eve
Police are appealing after a man was stabbed at the White Horse Inn in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
The assault occurred outside the Leeds Road pub at 2.20am when a man was hit in the face by another man aged in his 20s and of mixed race.
Other men then become involved and the victim was stabbed in back, causing him to fall. He was then kicked in the head when on the ground.
The group then made off.
As a result of the incident the victim suffered a stab wound to his back and a broken jaw.
Any witnesses to the incident or anyone with information about it are asked to call Kirklees CID on 101 quoting crime reference 13170000789.
Blackley Road closed
In case you weren’t already aware, Blackley Road is also closed in both directions this morning between the two Ainley Top roundabouts. This is likely to remain closed throughout the day.
Slip roads to stay closed until 6pm
The worst of the traffic has now subsided if you’re heading anywhere this morning, but be aware the slip roads will now remain closed until at least 6pm this evening.

Silver cars at the scene
It looks there is a number of silver cars at the scene where police shot the man last night. Police are staying at the scene and will be investigating the incident throughout the morning.
Incident is "not terrorism related"
Following speculation online, the force have also confirmed the incident is NOT terrorism-related.
Police make five arrests
Police have just confirmed they have made five arrests.
Here is their statement they have just issued:
“We can confirm that there were five arrests in total during the operation, three from the incident above and a further two from a related stop of another vehicle in the Chain Bar area of Bradford at about the same time.
“Traffic is able to access the M62 eastbound at Junction 24, however all other slip roads remain closed and are expected to be for some time.
“There are no further details at present. The incident remains with the Independent Police Complaints Commission for investigation.”
Sliproads not to reopen until at least 10am
Just in case you’re unaware, the entry sliproad going eastbound, i.e. towards Leeds/Bradford, is open. However all other sliproads are closed and expected to remain closed until at least 10am as police investigations continue.

As you can see, an area has been screened off as police remain at the scene following a shooting last night.
Traffic very heavy on surrounding roads
As you can see, traffic is very slow on the sliproad and on Wakefield Road heading into Huddersfield from junction 25 for Brighouse as everyone is coming off here instead. Traffic on Halifax Road and the Elland Bypass is also very heavy. It really would be best to avoid these routes if possible.
