40 minute delays on M62 near Huddersfield
There are delays of around 40 minutes on the M62 Westbound from J24 (Ainley Top) to J23 (New Hey Road, Huddersfield).
Congestion is back up to J25 (Brighouse). All lanes have now been re-opened.
Lanes one and two (of three) were closed to assist with the accident.
Long delays on M62
There are delays of around 45 minutes on the M62 eastbound due to a car fire blocking two of three lanes.
Firefighters are dealing with the blaze between junction 21 for Milnrow and junction 22 for Rishworth Moor.
Man attacked at Boy and Barrel pub dies
Police have announced that the man who was attacked at the Boy and Barrel pub in Huddersfield town centre on Wednesday September 18 has died.
A spokesperson for the force said:
Police are continuing to investigate a serious assault on Beast Market, Huddersfield on Wednesday (18 September)
A 42 year old man who was taken to hospital has now died from his injuries.
A 55 year old man who was arrested in connection with the incident remains in police custody.
A 52 year old man has also been arrested and is in police custody.
Enquiries remain ongoing.
Officers would appeal for anyone with information or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference 13180467084.
M62 lane closed
One lane closed and slow traffic due to broken down vehicle on M62 Westbound near Leeds - from J30 A642 (Rothwell) to J29 M1 J42 (Lofthouse).
Lane one (of four) is closed whilst awaiting recovery.
Calderdale Council preparing for flooding
Calderdale Council have tweeted they are preparing for a risk of flooding in the coming days.
This week has already seen gusts of wind of up to 70mph and that wind is set to be matched by heavy downpours in the next few days.
Rush hour roads round up
- Slow traffic on A640 New Hey Road inbound from M62 J23 to the centre of Huddersfield. Travel time is seven minutes.
- Queueing traffic on A62 Leeds road Westbound at A644 Wakefield Road (Cooper Bridge Roundabout). Travel time is six minutes.
- Queueing traffic on A58 Leeds and Halifax Road at A644 Brighouse Road (Christ Church traffic lights). Travel time is seven minutes.
