Emergency services are dealing with a fire in Lockwood Road near Huddersfield Town Centre.

West Yorkshire Fire have said a family has been rescued from a flat.

Police cars and vans, fire engines and ambulance crews are there and have cordoned off the road, which is fully closed to traffic.

Two people taken to hospital

Yorkshire Ambulance Service has confirmed two people have been taken to hospital.

Ambulance crews tending to victims

The fire service says all three victims were put in the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

They were rescued from a first floor flat by firefighters who got in through a window after using a ladder to climb up.

Two crews from Huddersfield, one from Rastrick and one from Holmfirth went to the scene.

Two children and adult rescued from flat fire

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service have confirmed three people, two of which were children, have been rescued from the fire, in a flat in Lockwood Road.
