Police are investigating reports that a man has been injured after a knife attack in Linthwaite.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Manchester Road, near to the Premier shop and Subway, at 3.52pm today to reports a man had been attacked.

A spokesman for the force said a 46-year-old local man had been slashed and had been treated for his injuries at the scene.

Here’s some more from the police. Officers were called at 3.52pm to reports that a man had been attacked in Manchester Road. When they arrived officers found a 46-year-old local man with a “serious but not life threatening slash wound.”

He received medical attention at the scene and a police investigation was launched.

Police want anyone with information to ring 101, quoting log number 1272 of today’s date or Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.

Man sustains 'serious' injury

Our reporter Andrew Robinson is on the scene right now. He tells me that there’s no police tape so no ‘scene’ as such but officers are speaking to local shops and businesses.

I’ve spoken to the force duty officer, Insp Dorian James, at West Yorkshire Police who says the man’s injury is believed to be “serious but not life-threatening.”

Man slashed in street

Police have released an update on what happened. the 46-year-old man received what has been described as a “slash wound” and he was treated by paramedics at the scene.
