THE Examiner is the voice of our community.
It reflects what’s happening in the areas we live, keeps an eye on the politicians and bureaucrats and fights the corner of ordinary Huddersfield men and women.
But now we can do this 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
As local newspapers and technology have changed the Examiner has stayed at the forefront of changes.
On www.examiner.co.uk you can not only find what’s in your Examiner today, but you can also find extra pictures and video as well as breaking news that may have happened after the Examiner’s deadline.
We aim to bring you the latest local news first and that means as soon as it happens.
On Thursday night the Examiner carried a detailed story about Shahid Malik’s expenses row less than 45 minutes after the story broke.
On the same day a reader called in to tell us about an accident on the ring road. The story was selected to go in Friday’s paper but the web carried the story and pictures that afternoon.
Our website lets you know what is happening in your areas first – and that’s a fact.
But it’s not just news – you can chat with other Huddersfield folk on the issues of the day, scroll through our picture galleries of past events, search for remembrance notices or even see what the weather’s going to be like or book a holiday.
We have recently launched an updated version of www.examiner.co.uk which we hope will prove even more popular than the last design - and that attracted more than 130,000 people a month who viewed more than a whopping 1,000,000 pages.
Although newspapers are changing, we aim to make them change to suit you.
Our aim is to bring you the best quality coverage whenever you choose to read it and in whatever form you want to use.
As well as online you can now get the Examiner on mobile enabled mobile phones!
The newspaper version of the Examiner is regarded by many as part of the family.
I hope that you will come to regard the online version as a new addition to that family – and let us continue to bring you the news you want!
