The Lindley whistler, 50, was presented with the Mamie Howden Trophy by the Huddersfield and District FA to mark his contribution to the sport over a long number of years.

Wilczynski has been refereeing amateur soccer in the town for the past 20 years but is now stepping down due to work commitments, having opened a new snack bar in Marsh.

He received the award from District FA president Frank Beaumont (above, left) at the Association’s annual meeting at the Irish Centre.
