PRIMARY school pupils from Huddersfield have taken part in a National Recycling Week competition - and come up trumps.
The contest, run by glass recycler Rockware Glass Forever, was to design a football shirt which combined themes of the World Cup and recycling.
Melissa Lunn, aged eight, from Meltham Moor Primary School, won one of the four top prizes. She is pictured with her Recycle For England jersey.
Rockware education leader Joanne Hollins said: "We gave them a very open brief and an information pack about glass recycling. We were astounded by the quality and imagination put into their work."
The winners, including Melissa, will be presented with printed versions of their designs and other goodies at a series of classroom sessions held at the Glass Recycling Education centre in Knottingley, near Pontefract, during National Recycling Week in November.
