YOUNGSTERS from a Huddersfield dance school are set to take the stage in London's West End.

Sixteen pupils of the Strickland Taylor School of Dance will take part in a show at the Peacock Theatre in November.

The theatre, near Covent Garden, is home to the world-famous Sadler's Wells dance company.

The youngsters will perform a routine set in the 1960s called These Boots Are Made For Walking.

The dancers, aged nine to 22, auditioned for the show in Chesterfield before a panel of judges from the International Dance Teachers' Association, which organises the show.

The dance school was one of only 20 out of more than 160 across the north of England to get on the bill.

Teacher Adele Taylor said: "The association holds a show in London every year and this year I decided we should try for it.

"We have done the routine at various competitions, but the youngsters are very excited at the prospect of performing it on the West End stage."
