A PEDESTRIAN killed in a collision with a lorry has been named. Jeffrey Pollard, 67, of Staincliffe, died on Wards Hill, Batley, at 2.50pm on Friday.
The lorry was a white Scania rigid HGV and the tragedy happened near the junction of Wards Hill with Commercial Street. The HGV had been travelling along Wards Hill towards Wellington Street.
A 44-year-old Liversedge man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was later released on police bail pending further inquiries.
