SOMEONE in Huddersfield has won £250,000 in the Lottery - but has not yet claimed the prize.

And Huddersfield firefighters fear the winning ticket may go up in smoke on Bonfire Night, as people clear out cupboards for bonfire material!

The ticket was bought in Huddersfield for the August 30 Thunderball draw.

The winning numbers were 18, 21, 24, 25, 26 and the all-important Thunderball number was 3.

Jacquie Wilson, of lottery organisers Camelot, said: "We are desperate to find the ticket-holder and unite him or her with the money.

"Someone out there has this ticket and is blissfully unaware they are sitting on £250,000.

"It would be awful for them to find out after the deadline, so we are imploring everyone to check their tickets again.

"It may be a pain to root around the house - but it would be worth it if they turn up the ticket," she added

The ticket-holder has until 11pm next February 26 to come forward to claim the £250,000.

Otherwise the cash goes to good causes.
