MORE roadworks and closures are on their way to Brighouse.

Just as the town centre roadworks have come to an end, it’s been announced that one of the town’s motorway junctions will temporarily close.

The Highways Agency say the westbound slip road will be closed overnight for around two weeks from August 2.

It’s to allow them to carry out vital improvement work to the slip road onto the motorway heading towards Manchester.

A spokeswoman said: “The works are expected to commence on Monday, August 2, for two weeks, or until completed.”

The improvements will see diversions in place to junction 24 at Ainley Top where people can re-join the motorway.

The junction will be closed from 9pm until 6am, so disruption will be at a minimum for commuters.
