A SECTION of the M62 will be closed until 2pm, after a serious crash early this morning.
At around 5.50am this morning, emergency crews were called to a crash between a lorry and a car on the westbound carriageway of the motorway between Junction 26 Chain Bar and Junction 25 Brighouse.
The man and woman travelling in the car have been seriously injured in the accident.
The lorry, which had overturned blocked all three lanes of the motorway.
Traffic built up across Huddersfield, Brighouse, Batley, and Birstall and diversion routes through the A62 were also jammed cuasing delays of around an hour and a half.
Many drivers who were at the front of the queue on the M62 have reported being stuck for over three hours.
The motorway was due to reopen at 1.15pm but according to the Highways Agency it will not reopen until 2pm.
