PARTS of the M62 will be closed during a month of maintenance work.

The Highways Agency is replacing road studs and renewing markings on the motorway next month.

The night-time work will take place between Junction 22 at Windy Hill and Junction 26 at Chain Bar.

Work will begin on June 1 and will take place between 8pm and 6am for a month.

A Highways Agency spokeswoman said: “This work is part of our ongoing maintenance programme and will take place at night to minimise disruption. Some slip roads will be closed overnight during the work – but only one at a time.”

The slip roads affected include the westbound exit at Junction 22 and the westbound entry at Junction 23 at Outlane. The eastbound entry at Junction 24 at Ainley Top will also be affected, along with the exit and entry sliproads eastbound at Junction 25 at Clifton, near Brighouse.

The eastbound exit at Junction 26 will also be affected.

Lanes on the M62 itself will also have to be closed during parts of the work, including the eastbound stretch between junctions 24 and 26 and the westbound part between junctions 23 and 22.
