A 31-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious arm injuries when he was attacked by a machete-wielding gang.

The victim was returning home from a night out when he was confronted by six masked men at Town Avenue, Bradley Mills, at 11.10pm last night.

They demanded his gold necklace and bracelet.

He was hit once with the machete and managed to get to his front door, where the gang attacked him again, and there was a violent struggle.

A woman came to the door and was also attacked, suffering a small cut to the left side of her head and face.

The man suffered deep slash wounds to his right arm and needed stitches at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The attackers are African- Caribbeans in their early 20s who wore halloween masks.
