THE BIGGEST healthcare review for five years is being carried out in Huddersfield.
A major project is under way across Kirklees and Calderdale to reshape health services for the future.
More than 1,000 people have already had the chance to have their say in a series of workshops held earlier this year.
Proposals are now being drawn up - to be announced in October. A public consultation will then start.
People will then have until January to have their say.
Six areas of care are being reviewed.
Those areas are:
* Older people
* Long-term conditions
* Diagnostic testing
The project will look at all services provided by Huddersfield's primary care trusts and by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust - responsible for Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital.
