THE BIGGEST healthcare review for five years is being carried out in Huddersfield.
A major project is under way across Kirklees and Calderdale to reshape health services for the future.
More than 1,000 people have already had the chance to have their say in a series of workshops held earlier this year.
Proposals are now being drawn up - to be announced in October - which will mark the start of a public consultation.
People will then have until January to have their say about how health services should look in the future.
Six areas of care are being reviewed.
Those areas are:
* Older people
* Long-term condi- tions
* Diagnostic testing
The project will look at all services provided by Huddersfield's primary care trusts and by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust - responsible for Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital.
