A MAN was head-butted in the face as he walked home through Moldgreen.
The 22-year-old victim suffered a nose bleed following the attack outside the Jolly Sailor pub in Broad Lane.
He was on his way home to Dalton at about 3.40am on Monday when he saw a man sleeping on a wall.
As he came nearer, the man got up, made several comments and then followed him, threatening to assault him.
He then head-butted him in the face, continued to follow him and hit him with his fist several times.
The man suffered bruising to his nose and head.
His attacker was described as white, aged 20 to 25, between 6ft and 6ft 2in with short brown hair.
He was wearing a top with blue and red horizontal stripes.
