A MAN aged 22 has been charged with murder.

The man, who has not been named, is accused of killing a 33-year-old architect at a house in Newsome last week.

The victim, Nigerian man Oluwadamilola Obafemi Wilson, was discovered dead at the house in Bent Street late last Wednesday night.

The grim discovery was made by police at about 11.30pm.

The 22-year-old was arrested a short time later and has been in police custody ever since.

Mr Wilson was a former Huddersfield University student who studied for an architecture degree from 1997 for several years.

Bent Street is a cul-de- sac with just eight homes, close to Newsome Road.

After Mr Wilson's body was found a large area of wasteland opposite the terraced house was sealed off.

The entire road was also shut, with police guarding both ends.

The area around Bent Street - including Elm Street - has many houses rented to students.
