A HELPLESS 89-year-old man has been robbed in his Huddersfield home – for a second time in two weeks.

The man, who lives alone in Thornton Lodge, had cash stolen from his home by a man who forced the front door, secured by a chain.

And the break-in, on May 10, came just 10 days after the same man had walked into the house and threatened the old man with a knife.

“These are terrible crimes against a very vulnerable man”, said Det Con Russ Conlon, of Huddersfield Police.

“We believe the same man is responsible and we hope that someone knows him or has seen him and can help us catch him”.

In both cases, cash was taken from the elderly victim.

Police said the suspect is white, aged about 45, 6 ft tall, of average build with short-cropped blond hair and stubble. He was wearing a dark tee-shirt with red trim and blue jeans.
