Two men, one armed with a knife, tried to rob a man in Dalton.

Police say the incident occurred in Standiforth Lane at 12.30pm on Sunday, January 31, as the victim walked along the road.

They grabbed his bag but the victim pulled it back.

One of the men then produced a knife and the victim, still clinging on to his bag, fled.

Officers want to speak to two men in connection with the incident.

The first is described as aged between 18 and 25 and wearing a light grey coloured Nike hooded top which was plain except for the branding.

The second is also described as aged between 18 and 25 and wearing denim jeans with elasticated bottoms.

Both men are described as black.
