HUDDERSFIELD railway station was evacuated last night after a man was seen on a train with a gun.
A Newcastle-bound train was halted on platform one around 6.30pm after a report from a passenger.
West Yorkshire Police's armed response unit, along with officers from Huddersfield and the British Transport Police, cleared the train and the station.
A spokesman from the British Transport Police said a Huddersfield man, who was in his 20s, was found to be in possession of a ball-bearing gun.
He has been charged with an offence relating to the possession of an immitation firearm and has been bailed to appear before Huddersfield magistrates on October 27.
Huddersfield station re-opened around 7.15pm.
