A 52-year-old man was charged with assault after snakes were thrown at a police officer. Paul Dunn, from The Broadway, Bredbury, Greater Manchester, is accused of assaulting a police officer and a police constable support officer. He is also accused of affray. He will appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on May 4. Police were called to a house on The Broadway on April 12 this year by environmental health officers investigating complaints from neighbours. While they were searching the garage two snakes were apparently thrown at one of the officers.
