A MAN has appeared in court accused of burgling a Huddersfield school.

Connor Mulvey, of no fixed address, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He denies entering Lindley Junior School as a trespasser with intent to steal on January 12.

Mulvey denies a further charge of stealing a disabled parking badge on the same date.

Caren Sohande, prosecuting, said that police attended at the school after an alarm was activated.

She said that the officers saw Mulvey walking down East Street carrying two laptop bags.

When they asked him for ID, Mulvey is alleged to have produced the stolen parking permit.

They searched the bags and found a Dell laptop and two cameras marked “Property of Lindley Junior School”, magistrates were told.

The permit, together with some change, was allegedly stolen from a car parked at Ridge View Drive in Birkby.

Mulvey, 23, faces trial at the Huddersfield court on March 8.

Magistrates remanded him in custody.
