A MAN has appeared in court accused of attacking a man in a lift.

John Swift, of Woodhead Road in Lockwood, was before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

They were told that the incident took place at Buxton House on June 9.

There the 19-year-old allegedly went into the lift and punched a male user on the head and kicked and jumped on him a number of times.

Swift faces another charge of threatening violence. On July 2, at Elder Grove Mews, he is alleged to have threatened Kerrianne Feeham that he would burn her house down.

Swift denies making threats and made no indication as to his plea on the affray allegation.

The court is due to commit the affray case to crown court on December 16. The other charge will be dealt with by magistrates and a case management hearing with Swift will be on November 18.
