A MAN has appeared in court accused of stealing a Land Rover from outside a Holme property.
Brian Morley, 30, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.
He is alleged to have taken the vehicle from an address in Woodhead Road on October 17.
Morley, of Beech Lea in Thurnscoe, Barnsley, denies the charge.
Linda Fowler, prosecuting, said that police were able to find the vehicle thanks to its tracking device.
She said that it was discovered abandoned in a ditch near the A6195 in South Yorkshire.
The prosecutor asked magistrates to send the case to Leeds Crown Court.
She said that there had been a spate of similar offences recently in the Holmfirth area.
Morley’s case was adjourned until a committal hearing on March 6. His bail conditions included a curfew between 8pm and 8am and a ban on entering Holmfirth.
