A DEWSBURY man has appeared in court accused of making threats to women.

Richard Scoon, of Hall Lane in Thornhill, was before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

He is accused of threatening Emma Hodgson, Michelle Pearson, Jessica Duxbury and Jane Harris at various address in the town.

The dates of the alleged offence range from August 1 to October 17.

Scoon faces a further charge of disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in the town between June 30 and August 31.

The 37-year-old is also charged with possession of a Stanley knife at Dewsbury Police Station.

Scoon appeared before magistrates via a prison video link.

He is due to stand trial for the offences on January 10.

No application was made for bail and he was remanded in custody until that date.
