A MAN has pleaded guilty to making more than 5,000 indecent images of children.

Steven McLeod, 23, admitted 22 counts of making indecent images and videos of children aged 18 months to 14.

He spoke only to plead guilty to each charge as it was read out at Leeds Crown Court yesterday.

The court was told at a previous hearing the offences took place at an address in Liversedge between December 2008 and November 2009.

The charges included making 5,210 indecent images of children and 3,280 videos of children.

Some of the images and videos were judged to be level one or level four which showed sexual activity involving a child or children of a serious, explicit nature.

The prosecution asked for pre-sentence reports.

Judge Hickey told McLeod: “You have just pleaded guilty to a number of serious offences. Make sure you co-operate with the author of the reports.

“If you don’t co-operate you will be sentenced without.

“Make sure you turn up on September 19.”

He granted McLeod, of Little London in Leeds, unconditional bail.
