A MAN flouted his court order so that he could visit his sick grandmother.

Alex McManus, 23, appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.

He was remanded in custody after he breached one of his bail conditions imposed by Bradford Crown Court.

McManus, of Juniper Grove in Netherton, is due to appear before the court on October 21 to be sentenced for attempted robbery.

His bail conditions are non-contact with witnesses, that he lives and sleeps at his address and complies with an electronically monitored curfew between 7pm and 7am.

However on two dates he returned home half an hour late for his curfew. McManus admitted the breaches, saying he was late because he was visiting his sick grandmother in hospital.

Magistrates agreed to readmit him to bail on the same conditions as before.
