A MAN has appeared in court after ignoring an order to stay away from his ex.

Martin Rhodes, of New Mill Road in Holmfirth, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He faces two charges related to his former wife Katie Rhodes.

Between July 6 and July 31 he is alleged to have harassed her at her Shelley home.

Rhodes, 40, is also charged with breaching the terms of his non-molestation order.

The order was made by Huddersfield County Court and protects Mrs Rhodes.

For both allegations, Rhodes is due before the Huddersfield court on Thursday.

He is currently on conditional bail not to contact his ex nor enter her home in Hawthorne Way.

Rhodes was arrested and brought before magistrates in custody after breaching these bail conditions.

The bench was told that he had taken the couple’s children back to their home.

However when his ex wasn’t there, he contacted her by texting her.

Rhodes admitted breaching his bail conditions.

Paul Blanchard, mitigating, said: “He accepts this was not appropriate, he has been detained by police for breaching his bail.

“I am certain there will be no further breaches of bail.”

Magistrates agreed to rebail Rhodes on the same conditions as previously.

They warned him to keep his nose clean until his case is dealt with later this week.
