A MAN who spat at a girl after she labelled him a ‘pervert’ has appeared in court.

Delwano Porter, of Scott Vale in Deighton, admitted before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday assaulting a 16-year-old girl at the town’s bus station by spitting at her.

Linda Fowler, prosecuting, said that Porter had approached the teenager at the bus station several times before and made comments to her.

As a result, 20-year-old Porter had been given a harassment warning.

On October 31 the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, saw him again while she was with two friends.

Ms Fowler said: “She said he called her names and she ignored him.

“He then became abusive towards her and her friends, calling her ‘sexy’ and ‘s**g’.

“She responded by calling him a ‘pervert’.

“He followed them and spat at her, with the spit landing on her coat.”

The case was adjourned to January 18. Porter’s bail condition is not to enter the bus station.
