A MAN has appeared in court accused of possessing indecent images of children and of people having sex with animals.

Richard Bugg, 37, appeared before District Judge Marie Malon sitting in Huddersfield yesterday.

He faces 21 charges of making an indecent photograph of a child.

Bugg faces a further 10 charges of possessing extreme pornographic images.

The child porn offences are alleged to have taken place at an address on Wakefield Road in Huddersfield.

Of the images allegedly made, 3,067 were level one photographs out of a possible scale of five.

This type of image involves children without sexual activity.

Three of the alleged images were considered level four, which shows sex between adults and children.

The other charges relate to Bugg’s home address in Campbell Street, Gainsborough.

There he is alleged to have had grossly offensive images portraying a person performing intercourse with animals including a horse and a dog.

Bugg denies all charges.

Judge Mallon said that the case will be dealt with by a jury in a crown court.

Bugg will make a final appearance before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on August 30.

His bail conditions are not to have unsupervised contact with children under 16.

Bugg was also banned from contacting named prosecution witnesses.
